The field is sometimes divided into pure and applied mathematics. Almost all fields of Orion Arm verse science require at least some familiarity with mathematics, but this is especially true of theoretical sciences like Transapient physics, and of applied fields like engineering and infotech for the God-Ai’s that rule this verse.
